Royal Enfield 650 Twins Launched In UAE

The much-awaited Royal Enfield 650 Twins have made their way to UAE. Avanti Automobiles Dubai hosted the grand unveiling today of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.

Royal Enfield opened its first exclusive store in Dubai in May 2018 and has been steadily gaining momentum in the market ever since. Fast forward to today, the oldest motorcycling company in continuous production is set to open a new chapter in its presence in the UAE with brand-new motorcycles. Yes, the Royal Enfield 650 Twins have come to Dubai.

Royal Enfield showcased the all-new Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 globally at EICMA 2017, followed by an American launch in 2018. Well, the twins are here in the Middle East now, and ready to serve those looking for pure, powerful, and undeniably handsome motorcycles.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Classic roadsters never go out of style. The irresistible Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 can attest to the fact.

Quick recap: The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a brand new motorcycle adorned with a nameplate with a 50-year-old legacy. Royal Enfield used to make an Interceptor 700 twin between 1960 and 1970. The new Interceptor loses out 50cc on the old one, but makes up for it with more power, torque, and level of equipment.

How much equipment? We are talking about dual-channel ABS and a slip-and-assist clutch for starters. The 648cc parallel-twin mill at the heart of the Interceptor is air/oil-cooled and fuel injected. Power output is rated at 47hp and torque stands at 52Nm. Both the 650 Twins share these basic components and technology.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a classic roadster with a laidback riding position that evokes simpler days of motorcycling through its timeless, instantly likeable design. Although it is brand new, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between it and its 50-year-old predecessor side-by-side.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

Find your cafe, because Royal Enfield has built you a racer: The Continental GT 650.

On the other hand, Royal Enfield can also be credited with making one of the fastest cafe racers of its time: the Continental GT 250, back in the 1950s. The all-new Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 draws upon its classic cafe racer design and adds the punch of a thumping 648cc parallel-twin. You are looking at a modern cafe racer that can race to the ton without breaking a sweat, going far beyond in its quest for speed.

Both the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 share the same basic chassis and cycle parts. However, Royal Enfield has vastly altered the riding experience of both these motorcycles through subtle modifications to the GT like its clip-on handlebars, single seat ending with a cowl, slightly rearset footpegs, and a tank with proper recesses to hold on to. It’s a wonder how much difference such small changes make, but they do.

It really is up to you. If you want a pure motorcycle that can leave you smiling ear-to-ear at the end of a long ride, the Interceptor might catch your fancy. On the other hand, you can take advantage of the Continental GT’s purposeful stance and burn up to your favourite cafe in style, be it in your neighbourhood or a couple thousand kilometres away.

The 2019 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 Twins are now on sale in Dubai. Prices start from AED 19,999 up to AED 21,000 for all variants of the 650 Twins. The time has come for you to pick your play!
