Royal Enfield has launched its latest 648-cc twins internationally. The Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 has been introduced in three variants viz. Standard, Custom and Chrome. The Standard variant of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 carries a price tag of $5799 and $5999 respectively. The custom variant on both the bikes is priced around $5999 and $6249 respectively while the Chrome variant stands at $6499 and $6749 respectively.

Royal Enfield has set two profiles for the models, making the Interceptor 650 a long distance tourer with an upright position and the Continental GT 650 as a cafe racer with a more committed riding position.

The Interceptor is seated at 804mm, slightly higher than the Continental at 789mm. Evident to its profile, the Interceptor gets a larger fuel tank with a capacity of 13.7 litres compared to the Continental with 12.5-litres.

The Continental GT is better planted with a heavier kerb weight of 198kg while the interceptor scales at 202kg.

The Enfield twins carry a 648-cc oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission along with slip and assist clutch. The engine delivers an output of 46 bhp at 7100rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5200rpm.

Suspension setup on the twins consists of a pair of telescopic ones at the front and gas-charged shocks at the rear. The bike’s braking duties are handled by a Bybre 320mm disc at the front and 240mm disc at the rear. Both the bike sits on a standard 18-inch aluminium spoke wheels along with 100/90 section front and 130/70 section rear of Pirelli SportComp tyres.

The company is also providing with a range of accessories which is not only limited to dedicated apparel and riding gear but also aftermarket pieces of equipment such as S&S exhaust.

Apart from that, the twins are being offered in the US with 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty with roadside assistance.
